Zinc and Your Healthy Prostate

Zinc is an essential trace element every human needs. We really don’t need a whole lot of it, but that small amount can really do good things for our bodies. Zinc is known to boost the immune system and help with the common cold, among other things. Zinc ointments are used to heal wounds and you’ve probably seen white sunblock and diaper rash creams—that’s zinc.

Our prostates have the highest concentration of zinc in our bodies, except for our bones. According to Harvard’s Men’s Health Watch, zinc balances testosterone and DHT (dihydrotestosterone), the two male hormones that stimulate prostate cell growth. So, zinc is a key nutrient for a healthy prostate.

Foods Rich in Zinc

With zinc, as with any nutrient, fresh food is the best way to get your daily needs met. Many of our daily foods are fortified with zinc and some naturally high in it. Foods like oysters, which are naturally very high in zinc, would be too much for every day.

Good foods with moderate amounts of zinc can be found in our local grocery stores. For example, just 1 oz. of dry roasted cashews has 1.6 mg of zinc. The same number of almonds has .9 mg. An 8 oz. serving of yogurt with fruit has 1.7mg, 3 ounces of dark meat chicken has 2.4 mg, and an instant packet of plain oatmeal has 1.1 mg.

Having oatmeal for breakfast, a yogurt snack, chicken and baked beans for lunch, a cashew snack, and maybe some Alaskan king crab for dinner you might take in 15.1 mg of zinc. Still not enough for a healthy prostate. On the other hand, a serving of oysters alone provides way beyond what you need, as they have 74 mg per 3 oz. serving.

Why a Supplement Can Help Support a Healthy Prostate

Supplements are called that for a reason. In today’s fast-paced world, we may try to make healthy choices, but overall, we can’t get all we need from the foods we eat, as demonstrated above. And chances are your aging prostate is hungry for the nutrients our modern diet has eliminated from our daily food intake.

URINOZINC® Plus provides you with Zinc, Saw Palmetto Extract, Beta-sitosterol, and key nutrients like Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Selenium, Vitamin E, Lycopene, Vitamin D, Calcium, and Magnesium to support healthy prostate function, promote healthy flow and frequency, normal bladder emptying, and restful sleep.

Eating well is important, and so is getting the essential nutrients our bodies need. URINOZINC® Plus helps feed your prostate in a safe and drug-free way.
